ISSAT Mateur 

Target

 

     

      Mateur High Institute of Applied Science and Technology (ISSAT Mateur) was founded In 2001 in a accordance with decree n°: 1386 of June, 7 2001.

      ISSAT’s main Target is to take charge in the training in the field of new technologies. There are two operational sections presently: Computer Science and Electronics.

      These choices come as a response to the needs of Industrialists in the same region where ISSAT is. Within each section, there are some optional teachings available and their content varies according to market needs.

     This three-year training leads to a University diploma of technology. This diploma allows either the access to active life or the entry to the cycle of training engineers after a specific contest. It also allows the access (on file) to the 2 end cycle of science –focused Faculties.

      

 

Administration

 

       

    ISSAT Mateur, benefiting from a civil status and a financial autonomy, is related to November, 7 university of Carthage.

    It is under the tutelage of the Ministry of high Education, Scientific Research and Technology.

   At the head of the administration there are a Directress assisted by a general secretary, a financial department, a department of studies and trainings, two departments and a scientific council.

   A specific department and an infirmary are available for students to meet all their needs.

      

     

 

Admission

 

        

     Students having a scientific baccalaureate (Sections: mathematics, Technology or experimental sciences) are admitted and oriented by the general direction of the students' affairs.

     Students, who succeeded in the reorientation contest, held annually by the November, 7 university of Carthage, can join ISSAT as well.

     The registration of overseas students is subject to the prior agreement of the Ministry in charge (general direction of international cooperation).

     

 

 

Infrastructure

 

        

             The Institute  contains :

- 23 class rooms

- 2 mini-amphitheaters

- A conference room

- 6 computers science labs to which students have free access.

- 4 Electric engineering labs

- 4 Physics labs

- An internet room restricted to teachers and to students working on their end of study project.

- A library that is well-stoked in scientific and literary books as well as newspapers and specialized periodicals.
